Job Purpose:

Working within the Engineering department to complete test and validation of VA Technology systems and equipment, both at VA Technology and worldwide customer locations, and the development of control software.

Reporting to Engineering Manager

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Test and validation of VA systems and equipment at VA Technology and worldwide customer locations
• Commissioning of VA system and equipment, including:
  ∙ System software commissioning & generation (Robot AS, PLC and Kepware code)
  ∙ System fault finding and diagnostics
  ∙ Fault rectification
  ∙ Conducting system wide test and inspection
  ∙ Set-up of in-house system software and industrial PCs
• Conduct customer training
• Conduct system servicing
• Development of Robot and PLC software
• Modification of engineering drawings to support system build and to improve quality
• Writing procedures and plans
• Completion of technical documentation including test plans and training modules
• Remote customer support – fault finding and diagnostics
• Be familiar with Risk Assessment and typical Health and Safety issues in the workplace
• Operate within company procedures

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical technical drawings.
• ‘Hands-on’ experience in building electrical and mechanical equipment

Qualifications:

• Degree or technically qualified to BEng / HNC in an electrical discipline or equivalent work experience
