Stucco Coating Equipment for Ceramic Shell-Building in Investment Casting
Our advanced fluidised bed systems are designed to deliver uniform stucco coverage across even the most intricate wax pattern geometries. Fluidized beds are ideal for shell lines that have complex shell designs or operate in space-constrained investment casting foundries. Designed and manufactured by VA Technology, we have the expertise to design fluidized beds to your process requirements to offer a compact, high-performance alternative to traditional rainfall sanders.
Stucco coating applications for fluidized bed;
- Efficient stucco build-up during the shell-making process
- Ideal for complex geometry shells
- Smaller footprint than rainfall sanders, ideal for compact shellrooms
- Compatible with robotic automation and a wide range of stucco/sand materials
Standard sizes of fluidised beds range from diameter: 600mm-1350mm (24”-53”); depth: 600mm-1500mm (24”-59”). A fluidized bed can be manufactured in alternative dimensions to suit your shellroom requirements, as we manufacture our shellroom systems in-house. Additionally, our fluidized beds are engineered for seamless integration with our IC-series robot and feature turbine blowers appropriate to the stucco material to be used in the shell line. Our fluidized sand beds are equipped with:
- Clean-out ports for easy maintenance
- Optional automatic cleaning systems with sand filtration
- Multiple plenum zones for even air distribution
- Pressure sensors integrated with control systems to ensure optimal sanding conditions
Other stucco‑coating solutions include rotary rainfall sanders, vertical sanders, and fluidized sand bed systems designed with automated sand‑feeding technology to reduce manual handling in the shellroom.
At VA Technology, we design and manufacture a comprehensive range of shellroom equipment used throughout the lost‑wax casting process from pattern washing to sand blasting and advanced stucco‑coating solutions for ceramic shell production. Our engineers and manufacturing specialists support both manual and fully automated configurations, helping each investment casting foundry achieve the process control, consistency, and production performance required for its specific goals.
