Engineering Apprentices
join VA Technology this autumn
VA Technology is pleased to welcome four apprentices to its engineering team in Telford, UK. These apprentices will now commence one year of full-time study before joining the team onsite for roles within our engineering department.
The apprentices will complete this program by initially completing 12 months of study at In-Comm Training Academy (Telford) to complete an HNC Level 4. Our apprentices will gain practical, hands-on experience in fitting, turning, milling, welding, electrical, CNC, CAD and fluid power.
VA Technology is pleased to continue its partnership with In-Comm Training Academy for the second year of its apprenticeship program. Our team is composed of individuals who have entered engineering through various paths, including degrees, apprenticeships, and vocational courses. We highly value apprenticeship schemes for the hands-on experience they provide, allowing apprentices to work closely with our engineering experts. We actively promote collaboration within our multi-disciplinary teams, encouraging knowledge-sharing and problem-solving to successfully complete projects. The addition of engineering apprentices enriches Team VA’s diverse skillset.
Last year, VA Technology welcomed five apprentices who are now in their second year of rotations. This will include project work within fabrication, electrical & controls, and systems assembly.
Meet Jacob Halota: Engineering Apprentice at VA Technology
Jacob Halota is currently in his second year of the apprenticeship. He is working onsite four days a week within our control panel assembly team, whilst completing his studies at In-Comm Training Academy, Telford.
“Starting an engineering apprenticeship has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my career. An apprenticeship allows me to work directly with experienced engineers. This hands-on experience is invaluable as I get to apply theoretical knowledge to project work at VA Technology, making learning more engaging and practical”, said Jacob Halota.
Our engineering apprenticeship program is designed to develop a wide range of skills, including technical skills specific to engineering and soft skills like communication and teamwork. “Being part of projects means I can see the impact of my work. It’s rewarding to contribute to something tangible that you have built”, said Jacob Halota.
