IC-Robots

We offer an array of IC-series robots to suit your applications. Every IC-series robot is designed with enhanced engineering to withstand the rigours and demands of investment casting.

We offer an array of IC-series robots to suit your applications, based on the Kawasaki, Fanuc, Kuka or ABB robot system with enhanced engineering to withstand the rigours and demands of investment casting.

IC-Series Robots

Our IC-series robots use an advanced link design to eliminate the need for an unwieldy counterweight, reducing turning radii and shrinking side-to-side clearance. An ultra high-torque wrist holds the hanger assembly firmly and smoothly irrespective of the hanger orientation. This provides efficient manipulation of the shells within the slurry tanks and sanders. A digital drive technology provides smooth, reliable operation. As a result, complex-shaped shells can be easily and effectively dipped and stucco-coated. Additionally, if an optional slurry level control is fitted, the IC-series robot can precisely adapt the dip height to varying slurry levels.

If additional tanks and sanders are required, or when transferring between cells, the robot can be supplied on a linear 7th-axis of any length to suit the shellroom layout.

We have engineered our IC-series robots to be programmed simply and responsive. Programmes can be edited and stored offline, if required.

IC-F Series Robots

IC-F series are based on the Fanuc robot system. We have engineered IC-F series robots for operations specific to investment casting processes. The rigid robot structure is equipped with continuous spin tooling. The robot holds the hanger assembly firmly and smoothly, irrespective of the hanger orientation.  The wrist arrangement provides 3-axis for efficient manipulation of the shells within the slurry tank or sander. We provide the option of supplying the IC-F series robot on a linear 7th-axis for shellrooms that contain multiple slurry tanks and sanders, or when shells are transferred between cells.

Shell Hangers

We manufacture a range of shell hangers for our IC-series robots. Our hangers are manufactured from steel, and designed to hold a wide range of shell weights. A shell hanger is fitted to a T bar which is centre-bored to fit the robot gripper system securely.

Shell hanger T bars can be manufactured to standard sizes, or bespoke sizes with alternative attachment techniques. Individual adaptor pins can be provided to convert your existing wax attachment system for use with our shell hangers.

Key Features

  • Single or multi-positional

  • Simple attachment technique

Options

  • Wax adaptor

  • Lock ring and lynchpin

  • Alternative attachment techniques
